Monday, September 29, 2014

Hello lovelies  I'm back with my second beauty swap which is from an Austria girl named Eva S. If you are wondering how I met this awesome swappers, I've met them from this beauty group with I've mentioned in my first swap from UK.

This swap has been planned since January 2015 when I first received my first swap. That was the first time I've spoken to Eva who agreed to do a swap in August since I'm in a tight budget. We sent each other questionnaires to know more about each other to make shopping much easier. I did sent a whole list of items I'm dying to get and in the end she did grant most of the items on my wishlist! Note: these items are from a budget of 130USD.

A cute postcard from Ben&Jerry's because Eva works there.
It means "Greetings from Austria".

I really think Eva did a great job and she is really generous! I also went out of the budget but I'm really happy she loves her swap items too! I'm really happy when I get to shop for other people and they appreciate the efforts I've put in  I did sent her tons of face sheet masks, Etude house, Victoria Secrets, brands she couldn't get in Austria and lots of Japanese and local tea!

Don't you think Eva did a great job? Have you swapped before?

Review: Zoeva Rose Golden Luxury Set

After getting the full set of Real technique brushes from iHerb and I was pretty sure that I do not need any brushes anymore. I wasn't so into getting another set of brushes until I came across a breathtaking picture of this brush set by SlowBroGal. I was head over heels after seeing these amazing Rose Gold brushes, who doesn't love rose gold colour right? Anyway, I decided not to get them since international shipping was so expensive but later I have gotten them from my swap from Austria!

Rose Golden Luxury Set €65 from Zoeva Official Website / RM261.50 from Luxola
The set includes 8 brushes with a sleek pouch. The set comes with both natural and synthetic bristles brushes, so it can be used with cream and powder based products.

Review: Yojiya Yuzu Tsuyaya Lip Balm from Japan

Tuesday, September 23, 2014

I was googling and I stumbled on this Yojiya Yuzu Tsuyaya Lip Balm that was mentioned in many blogs! It is made with only natural ingredients and this brand has more than 100 years of history! This lip balm is only available in Japan and due to it's overwhelming demand, it is available in all airport's duty free.

Yojiya Beauty was founded in 1904 in Kyoto, the world-famous ancient capital of Japan. The company produces various kinds of beauty products that refine and set off the natural beauty of the skin. Their most famous product - Oil blotting Facial Paper is used all over Japan as an essential beauty makeup product.

The Yojiya Yuzu Lip Balm contains only natural oils and four different types of sericin (silk proteins). The yuzu oil used in the balm is directly derived from the peel of the fruit. This balm can be used by itself or also be used as a lipstick base preventing dryness and chapped skin.

Name: Yojiya Yuzu Tsuyaya Lip Balm
Ingredients: Cholesteryl/Ranosuteriru, Beeswax, Octyl dodecanol, Olefin oligomers, Diisostearyl malate, Yuzu peel oil, Olive oil, Jojoba oil fatty acid/component, Rosehip oil, Sericin, Tocopherol, Stearyl glycyrrhetinic acid, Caprylyl glycol, Water.
Availability: All Yojiya Stores & Airports
Price: Around 700yen
Quantity: 8g (Full Size)
Made In: Japan

Why I like this Yojiya Yuzu Tsuyaya Lip Balm:

  • The lovely citrus scent. If you love citrus scents, you will definitely love the smell! This lip balm smells natural, definitely not like those artificially fruit scented lip balms.
  • Moisturizing silk finish. It feels very natural and it keep my lips from drying up outside. The Yuzu fruit has 3 times more Vitamin C than a normal lemon and has natural moisturizing properties.
  • Natural ingredients. I love that this Lip Balm is made out of natural ingredients such as Jojoba oil and Rosehip oil.
  • Small cute pot. The Yojiya Yuzu lip balm comes in a small pot with their signature trademark of a reflecting mirror with a woman's face. It's so easy to carry around in my bag!
Where can I find this?
You can find Yojiya Store or Airports all around Japan. The location of their stores are listed down at their official website.

How much is this Lip Balm?
It cost around 700yen (RM22)

Urban Decay Fall 2014 Collection launches in Malaysia

Sunday, September 21, 2014

Hey beauty junkies, are you ready for fall yet? I'm bringing you a sneak peek on some new Urban Decay products from their Fall 2014 Collection that will be launching mid-September in Malaysia. Urban Decay's fall collection in honor of Pulp Fiction's 20th anniversary — pays tribute to the iconic film by creating a whole set of the products inspired by the movie! The Urban Decay Fall 2014 collection includes: the limited edition Pulp Fiction collection and the Perversion mascara, along with cult favourite 24/7 Glide-On Liners and a multi-purpose brush.

1) The Pulp Fiction Collection

This entire collection was inspired by Mrs Mia Wallace from the movie Pulp Fiction, it's dark and bold!

  • The Palette holds 5 shades (3 which are brand new!) and a double-ended brush for blending (RM119).
    Righteous - light cream matte
    Tyranny - warm brown matte
    Vengeance - deep taupe-brown matte-satin
    Furious - white satin
Anger - black satin with slight tonal sparkle
  • Mrs Mia Wallace 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil (RM73) - blood red shade
  • Mrs Mia Wallace Revolution Lipstick (RM75) - dark matte bloody red shade
  • Heavy Metal Glitter Liner (RM69) - a black liner with silver sparkle
  • Mrs. Mia Wallace Nail Color - deep red with slight shimmer and chip free!

2) Subversion Lash Primer & Perversion Mascara

Subversion Lash Primer (RM69) - A creamy, lash primer that conditions and preps lashes before applying mascara. It coats lashes with protective panthenol and conditioning vitamin E, prepping them for high-volume mascara application. This lash primer is Paraben Free!

Perversion Mascara (RM85) - A ultrablack mascara that lengthens and volumizes your lashes! It provides creamy, full-bodied texture that’s not too dry and not too wet, allowing for just the right amount of pull as it glides through each lash, achieving clump-free application. It is formulated with a nourishing blend that stimulates lash growth, and the triple-black pigments leave lashes looking ultrablack.

3) 24/7 Velvet Glide-On Eye Pencils

A must for smoky-eye fanatics: an ultra-velvety, plush version of a creamy & waterproof 24/7 formula. 24/7 Velvet Glide-On Eye Pencil is the definitely the ultimate tool for smudging and it has the same long-lasting benefits as the 24/7 Eye Pencils but they are more powdery than the original ones.

24/7 Velvet contains moisturizing jojoba oil and it’s paraben-free, it comes in 6 shades:
Black Velvet - rich and smoky matte black
Plushie - rich and smoky matte purple
Cult - deep jewel matte green
Minx - rich matte blue
Lush - smoky matte brown
Lure - rich dark matte charcoal

4) Naked Flushed Brush

This brush is a multi-purpose face brush that can be used for blush and bronzer. The fluffy angled side can be used for both blush and bronzer, and the flat side can be used for both powders and cream products.

With the talented Mr Steve Kassajikian who is the US Brand Ambassador.
I am definitely going for the red lipstick because you can't go wrong with bloody red lips!

This new Urban Decay Fall Collection will be available in mid-September and can be found at all Sephora outlets nationwide.

Are you excited for Urban Decay's Fall 2014 Collection?

Maybank GO Ahead Challenge 2014 Experience

Thursday, September 18, 2014

The Maybank GO Ahead challenge in back for it's 3rd season and it is more complex as before! These finalists were greatly tested on their resilience and endurance to discover their true hidden potential. “Expect the unexpected” - The tagline for this season, these finalists have to demonstrate their ability to adapt as an individual and as a team that comprises different cultures and dynamics.

What is Maybank's GO Ahead Challenge? This challenge is a multi-disciplinary business talent competition open to recent graduates and final-year university students to test their business skills, thinking skills and physical skills! You not only have to be book smart, but you also have to be street smart in order to win a total prize fund of $72,000 USD, and the chance to join the prestigious Global Maybank Apprentice Programme.

I went and support the last challenge in Maybank GO Ahead Challenge that was held at Bukit Bintang! It was a sales challenge and all the proceeds are given to charity. It was definitely an eye opener to see the great spirits and bright-lit faces of these contestants from all over the world. I even get to meet contestants from China, United Kingdom and some of our neighboring countries.

Me and Wilee scored Nutella-to-go for a very affordable price!
The finalists were split into 10 teams of 6 Challengers, with each team assigned a series of challenges in multiple disciplines, encompassing fields of finance, stock broking, sales and even culinary and music. The dynamic Competition tested the participants intellectually, physically, and psychologically.

I was also invited to attend the Gala Dinner to witness the highly anticipated results for this challenge. One of the highlights of the dinner was this open sharing session between the experienced ones and the younger generation. It is true that the elders have more experience in life but it is also agreeable that the younger generation is more tech savvy and active!

Richard Agabus Ocampo picked up the Ultimate GO Ahead Challenger crown this year. He walked away with USD1,000 and an all expense paid trip to New York for an internship program with Maybank's New York office.
Team Avengers with members from Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia and the Philippines (including the Ultimate GO Ahead Challenger, Richard) won the second runner up place winning USD10,000.
Team Dark Knight, with challengers from Malaysia, Indonesia, China and the United Kingdom won the first runner-up award of USD20,000.
Team Star Wars picks up the grand prize as the Champions of the Maybank GO Ahead Challenge 2014.
With the pretty Wilee Tee <3

I was very motivated to join this competition after I graduate. I am definitely been inspired by these people that have been working so hard in this contest. I must say the experience you'll get from this competition is priceless.

For more information and latest updates on the GO Ahead Challenge, check out the GO Ahead Academy Facebook Group.
