I've made an appointment and met up with Dr. Tan, a certified aesthetic physician who is currently practicing aesthetic services at major shopping malls in Kuala Lumpur. He is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine since 2009. Dr.Tan is really calm, friendly and he was ready to answer all my questions. Initially, I wanted to do the lipo injections but he gave me an honest advice not to because it was not suitable for my baby fats. Instead, he gave me an opinion to go for botox instead to contour my jawline. I have big facial muscles due to Bruxism, I even grind my teeth till I made holes in my retainer.
Questions
How does Botox reduce the jaw?
Botox is injected into the masseter muscle to relax the muscles so that they decrease in size, but still allows you to chew normally. This is a non-surgical jaw reduction, it provides a temporary solution for those who would like to smooth a sharp jaw line contour from squared to a more feminine oval shape.
It is safe?
The complications are minimal. To be safe, you need to find a qualified and experienced doctor.
What is the downtime? Can I go on with my daily activities?
There is no downtime and no scars! You can continue to eat anything and there is no need to abstain from any activities.
Will it be painful?
No, it won't. Just a slight discomfort and numbing cream will be applied to that area.
When will I see results?
Dr. Tan told me that I can see the optimum results in one month!
How long it lasts?
This depends on the individual. It can lasts up to 4-6 months.
How long is the procedure?
Almost 30 minutes for everything(including cleansing, numbing cream and procedure). You can even come and get it done during a lunch break!
