Review & Swatches: MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquers

Hello girls! ♥  I have been a big fan of the Lime Crime especially the Velvetines Lip Lacquers but they are soooo pricy! I've been hearing that MUA's Velvet Lip Lacquers are the best dupe for them and they only cost £3.00(appx RM16) for one!

I bought 4 out of the 10 shades available during the Black Friday Sale last November and I had free shipping to Malaysia! Don't worry, the shipping to Malaysia isn't that bad and MUA always have Free Worldwide Shipping Promotion!

I purchased 4 shades in Funk, Dare, Criminal & Reckless.

The packaging is a simple and sleek black box with gold metallic writings. You can clearly see the shade of the Velvet Lip Lacquers without opening it. The name of the shade is written on the back of the packaging with a short description and the ingredients.

 The tubes are made of frosted plastic and you can still see the colour of the product inside. The lids are black plastic with gold metallic writing of the MUA brand.

One of my lip lacquers doesn't come with a label. You also have to becareful not to drop them as they chip easily!

Funk - A muted pink which is very wearable.

Dare - A muted berry with a hint of pink, I love this!

Criminal - A very sharp and bright pink, reminds me of barbie.

Reckless - A dark hot red, very vampy and sexy.

The first thing I can say about these lacquers are that they are incredibly pigmented and really opaque. You only need one swipe to get full coverage and it spreads smoothly! However, it will settle in the wrinkles of your lips and can be quite drying. Do remember to exfoliate and moisturize your lips before applying the Lip Lacquers. I also find that it takes quite some time to fully dry on my lips and hand, I have to keep my lips slightly open to wait for them to dry as it will stick together! You also have to remove your lips with a oil based remover because they seriously do not budge after drying!

I am in love with the opacity and strong colour pay off ! I seriously don't think you can get any Lip Lacquers locally for this price. The staying power is amazing and it doesn't budge at all when it fully dries up. However, I would love to see more colour choices from MUA.
