Betty Midwest Kitchen @ Aman Suria

Thursday, May 1, 2014

Holla! I'm finally taking a break from all my beauty related posts because I realized I've not been posting much about food lately :'( If you're a big fan of pork, this post is dedicated to you Sorry to my muslim friends, this place is too good that I have to share with everyone!

Betty's Midwest Kitchen is run by a family who has previously lived in America and has decided to open a cozy little restaurant to share the delicious fare distinctive of the Midwest in the US. This place is not your usual western restaurant with average tasting steaks, Betty's Midwest Kitchen serves delicious western food.

House Lemonade - RM3.00
Freshly squeezed lemonade, very refreshing and cooling!
Original Stewart's Fountain Classics Soda in Orange'n Cream & Float - RM7.50
WARNING: Do not order this! The taste is too artificial, like some kind of medicine!
Original Stewart's Fountain Classics Soda in Root Beer & Float - RM7.50
It's average root beer, nothing beats my favourite A&W Root Beer!
Pork Chops in Country Gravy - RM27.00 *recommended*
It doesn't look good but it is very tasty and juicy! The mash potatoes are to die for So smooth!
Beer Batter Fish - RM25.00
Just your average fish & chips, it's doesn't have the weird smell but I don't think it's worth ordering. The homemade tomato salsa appetizer was good!
Home-styled Macaroni & Cheese - RM18.00 *recommended*
Yummy crispy breadcrumbs coating the macaroni covered with cheese, I think this is really good!
Dog Food - RM12.00
Fried drenched in gravy covered with cheese, must eat when it's hot if not it will be very soggy!
Ala Carte Sausage Platter - RM24
Sausages was really juicy and tender, I cannot comment much because my friend ordered this :)
Cheeseburger - RM18.00
I do not recommend you guys to try this, the meat was really dry and doesn't taste good :(
It was a disappointment.
Baby Back Ribs - RM37.90 *recommended*
OMG This is so yummy, soft and sweet! I am so in love with this ♥
Grilled Beer Braised Boston Butt - RM33.90 *recommended*
This is very delicious too, the meat is so tender and juicy. The mash potatoes are as awesome as the last time I came. I want to go back for more! ♥

Overall, I think the pork chops, grilled pork belly and ribs are worth ordering. I will definitely come back here for more!

Food: It was sooooo good, anything with pork doesn't go wrong. Although american food but the portion is not as big.

Price: Mid range, slightly expensive but worth every cent!

Serving Time: We waited 15-20 minutes on the waiting line and the food was served right away once we were seated. Our orders were taken while we were waiting in line.

Service: I honestly didn't appreciate their service, the daughter seems very frustrated and busy as there is a long waiting line with limited tables. She will keep "reminding" you that you have to leave, no time to sit down and chit chat.

Environment: Cozy and homey but I think they should expand the place as there were too many patrons. The service by the daughter did hamper the cozy and homey experience.

Parking: It is kind of difficult to find space during dinner time on weekends. You are advised to go before 5pm to avoid waiting in line.

NOTE: Betty Midwest Kitchen has a rule that they won't seat any incomplete groups.
