Review & Swatches: ColourPop Super Shock Eyeshadows

Sunday, March 8, 2015

Holla  If you have been following YouTube Beauty Gurus closely, you would have noticed the hype on ColourPop! I was immediately attracted by the swatches and how affordable these babies are, I quickly made an account to purchase them.

ColourPop was born, raised and made with love in Los Angeles, they are cruelty-free! These super formulated eyeshadows makes it hard to believe that they only cost $5(RM18-RM20) for one. They are definitely cheap but of good quality, definitely a steal! Unfortunately, Colourpop doesn't ship worldwide yet!

Are you ready to see the swatches?? I swatched them lightly so they don't appear super intense.

Megan Naik x ColourPop Collection *Must have*

Onai - Satin
Creamy white with blue violet opalescent duo chrome. Not chalky at all!

Amira - Metallic
Antique gilded gold with multi- coloured and multi- dimensional glitter. It is really pretty but the multi-coloured glitters doesn't show up in pictures.

Lectra - Metallic
A deep burgundy with pink violet glitter.

Farah - Matte
A normal deep brown
Get Lucky - Ultra Metallic (On Packaging)/Metallic (On Website)
A true liquid gold colour, super pretty!
Fringe - Metallic
A shimmering champagne with gold and silver glitter.
Smash - Satin
A neutral medium warm beige with a soft golden satin finish, the perfect base colour for the crease!
Bill - Matte
A muted plum beige, very similar to MakeUpGeek's Unexpected.
Hustle - Matte
A burgundy violet plum-ish colour, perfect to use with Bill.
Lala - Ultra Metallic (On Packaging)/Metallic (On Website)
A true rose gold colour, super love in with the pigmentation on this!
Hustle (matte) vs Lectra (metallic)
Both of them are burgundy shades but Hustle is more violet/plum.

I am seriously in love with these amazing eyeshadows, they literally feel like butter, wet and smooth but when applied, it is like normal powder eyeshadow. I don't know how to describe the feeling but it makes me really happy seeing them! These babies are pigmented and opaque, I'm hooked! I do hope they bring Colourpop into Malaysia or at least have worldwide shipping!

What I like about them:
Wide range of colours
Smooth and pigmented
Creamy - even mattes!
Amazing finishes!
Affordable!

What I didn't like about them:
Cannot depot the pans
You need to close tightly or else it will dry up quickly
Doesn't ship worldwide
Have to use fingers for intense colour.

Application tips from ColourPop:
For maximum coverage: Use fingertip and tap shadow onto eye lid. A flat, fine tip synthetic brush will work fabulously as well and is actually better for a more detailed application close to the lash line. However, your fingertips make for the most intense application. To blend: Use a fluffy brush that has good movement, dip tip of the brush into the shadow and blend with a “wind shield wiper” movement throughout the crease of the eye. This will make your shadow softer and more diffused (like a total pro). When finished, close that sucker up tight! Don’t leave the jar opened for long periods of time, you may lose some of the magic that makes the Super Shock Shadow so amazzzing.
