My Elephant Thai Restaurant @ Sri Hartamas

Thursday, April 11, 2013

Last few weeks, my dear Vivian organized a small gathering for friends and family to celebrate her 21st birthday! I was really excited because I am a huge fan of Thai cuisine and I can't wait to try this place as I heard a lot of good comments about it.

My Elephant Thai Restaurant has three branches, in Sri Hartamas, Alam Suria and Petaling Jaya. They are one of the most famous Thai restaurants in PJ and thai food lovers in PJ would surely know this place.

Sri Hatamas's branch is situated in the middle of empty shoplots.
There are ample parking in this area, so fred not of  wasting time search for parking spot.
My Elephant's decorations are very simple yet neat and cozy.
The service is quite good and I really enjoy the environment there.

A simple black menu with a Elephant cut out.

Pandan Cooler, RM3/cup
This is their famous drink, it taste just like pandan, duh lol
I find it quite sweet and I don't quite remember the taste already, so it's not that impressive to me.
The appetizer
Everything is great accept for the popiah, I'm not a big fan of it.
Thai Green Curry with chicken
One of the best green curry I ate in KL, reminded me of the one I ate in Bangkok.
Highly recommended! This dish was the fastest to clear out that night.
Fried Chicken
This one is very good too, too bad I only had one piece to eat.
I must go back and eat more!!
Clear Galangal Lemongrass Lime Soup with Aromatic Thai herbs
This was not that good, their soup wasn't that spicy to my liking, I didn't really like it.
Fried Wild Fern Shoots ( Fried Pucuk Paku or Paku Choi)
Super duper yummy, I'm not a big fan of the wild fern shoots but I cannot stop eating this.
The vegetables wasn't too hard nor soft, it was the right texture and very tasty.
Milk Tom Yum Soup with Aromatic Thai herbs
This was much better than the clear one, kinda similar to the one in Bangkok.

With the bunch
I couldn't comment much on the prices because I wasn't the one paying :p The birthday girl did all the ordering for us so our job is only to eat and enjoy the food. It's really a nice place to dine in, I would like to return and try more food. I did scan through the menu and I find the prices are quite steep but it's around the same as other thai restaurants in KL.

** Last month, Jason Chen, David Choi and Chester did dine in My Elephant's Alam Suria branch.
